Back from Egypt

I've just returned from an amazing vacation in El Quseir (which I've now also seen written as Al Qusayr, El Qusair, Quesir, Qusseir, Qosseir, or Kosseir), on the Red Sea coast of Egypt. On the way back we spent a day in Cairo, visiting the pyramids and the incredible Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.

I'm not officially back from vacation until Monday, but will be starting to get caught up on email and blog comments.

In the meantime, here's a little panorama from our visit to the pyramids in Giza.Pyramids panorama

  1. Any chance we're going to get a Photofly model of the Great Pyramid?

  2. If only I had enough pics of it (from enough angles) to get a decent model. It was a brief visit, sadly.

I am going to try to get one of El Quseir fort, where I think I may have taken enough shots to do it justice...

  3. I was about to ask the same question.
I've tried photofly on a few office items (like model cars and toys on people's shelves) with below average results, seems you must practice a bit on it. I really want to put a camera on an RC helicopter and try to get a 3d model of site grading for certain projects. When will mobil laser scanning be out??

  4. I think we're just going to see an increasing array of low cost scanning options available, whether via consumer-priced laser scanners, depth cameras, photogrammetry or whatever else comes next. 🙂
