Come to the Dynamo Hackathon at DevCon 2026

I'm starting to get quite excited about Autodesk DevCon 2026 in Amsterdam. Just getting there is going to be an experience: I'm taking the NightJet service - a sleeper train - from Basel to Amsterdam, arriving the morning of the pre-conference day, during which I'll be hanging out at the Dynamo Hackathon.

DevCon Dynamo Day

I've taken night trains in the past - several times in India and once from London to Edinburgh - but this will be my first time taking one in mainland Europe. I do hope I arrive rested. 🙂

Anyway, the Dynamo Hackathon is going to be a really fun event, and free to attend for DevCon attendees! If you need the discount code - to avoid the €100 registration fee - be sure to contact Achintya Bhat or John Pierson from the Dynamo team: you can do so via the Dynamo Forum, LinkedIn or email (just let me know if you're struggling to contact them and I'll put you in touch).

Here are the main themes for this event, lifted directly from the above post:

:robot: AI + Dynamo

  • Dynamo MCP (Alpha)

  • Autodesk Assistant in Dynamo (Alpha)

  • Agentic Node (Alpha)

:cloud: Dynamo on the Cloud

  • Design Automation

  • Dynamo + APS (we might have some new WIP APS nodes :star_struck: )

:puzzle_piece: New Tools & Ecosystem

  • Workflows across Revit, Civil 3D, Forma, Alias

  • Data Exchange and interoperability across tools

  • And some new goodies (stay tuned) :wrapped_gift:

If any of these topics sounds like fun, be sure to sign up!

  1. "I'm taking the NightJet service" really caught my attention, as I've had mixed experiences with sleeper trains in the past, especially when it comes to finding halal food options. One practical tip I've learned is to pack some non-perishable snacks and a refillable water bottle to ensure I have something to eat and drink during the journey. The parallel between the convenience of night trains and the appeal of certain cities as business hubs is something I have been thinking about because it seems that cities with good transportation links often attract more investment and talent. I wonder if the author has considered how the ease of travel to Amsterdam might contribute to its success as a destination for conferences like DevCon.
