I posted this today on LinkedIn.
I'm having to rethink my approach to using this platform.
Next week marks 20 years of my "Through the Interface" blog, but lately my standard approach of posting links to my content - with a few images - is leading to fewer and fewer people seeing my posts, at least those coming in from platforms such as this one.
Part of me doesn't care all that much: I feel like I've grown out of my dopamine-hungry, engagement-measuring phase and I certainly find it a shame that I have to create "native" content to be able to share something with my network.
But it's somehow frustrating to think my ramblings aren't being seen (if a tree falls in the woods, and all that), and so maybe I just need to get with the times and start pandering to the algorithm. I'll probably archive this content to my blog for posterity, in any case, assuming it's not now owned by someone else.
With all that said, here's a quick recap of where I'll be and what I'll be doing for the rest of the month of June. I hope to see some of you along the way!
- June 11: Festi'Neuch (I didn't post about this, by the way), a local music festival where my 16-year-old daughter will be playing with her band
- June 15: fly to Toronto
- June 16-18: attend internal meetings
- June 19: fly to Calgary
- June 22: attend the SocialSys'26 workshop ahead of ACM BuildSys'26, then fly back to Toronto
- June 23: attend internal meetings then fly home to Switzerland
- June 24: sleep in my own bed and swap luggage
- June 25: fly to London
- June 26: London Festival of Architecture event at our Covent Garden office
- June 27: fly home
