The summer lull is definitely now over, as we're just a few weeks from Autodesk University 2026 and our preparation is kicking into high gear. As mentioned last time our class is recorded, but things are progressing elsewhere, too: invitations have gone out for our Tuesday afternoon event (we're already half-full with the existing RSVPs) and the last spots for the Braindate just prior to it have now been filled.
On the lead-up to AU, expect to see a number of articles and blog posts show up about my team's work. The first went live this week on the Autodesk Research blog with a post about our recent London Festival of Architecture session - something I've mentioned here before, of course. It talks about the deeper motivations behind our research as well as our partnership with UCL, something we'll be highlighting more in a video that will hopefully go live before AU.

Regarding UCL, our friends running Minds in Motion - which we're very proud to support - are looking for volunteers to participate in the next phase of the study. Last year they ran 100 Minds in Motion - with a large group of 101 participants - but this year's study is looking at the behaviour of smaller groups and individuals. Hence the minor "rebrand". 🙂

If you're interesting in participating, there are still spots available a the time of posting. Sign up here. You will be compensated £30-60 for your time, although frankly it's just a cool opportunity to be involved in a study of this sort. A few members of the Enlivened Design team will be there, although I'm limiting my travel over the coming months, so will have to skip it. It should be a great experience - and will help further our understanding of human behaviour in designed spaces - if you have the chance to participate!
