This is really exciting: for the first time, Autodesk Research - and specifically the Enlivened Design team - will be participating in the London Festival of Architecture, hosting a workshop at our office in Covent Garden on Friday June 26th, 2026.
The LFA kicked off this week and runs through the month of June. This year's event has the theme of #Belonging, which is perfectly aligned with our research interests. Be sure to check out the programme!
Here are some details about our workshop from the LFA website and the Autodesk Research LinkedIn post:
Encoding Experience: Rethinking how software shapes our spaces
Interactive workshop exploring how design software could better support belonging, participation and human experience in our built environment.
How might design software – a quiet force behind our built environments – evolve to expand belonging? Join our interactive session and reflect on how today's tools influence design decisions, especially in terms of whose perspectives are highlighted and whose voices get left out.
Explore thought-provoking prototypes based on research into experience of architecture and advances in AI. Dip in and out of curated discussion, critique and collaborative sketching groups. Together, let's reimagine design software to invite broader participation, bring lived experience into decision-making and empower more people to have a say in shaping their places. Whether you're a practitioner, student or simply care about the impact of space on our communities, you'll leave with fresh insights – and having played a part in redefining future design technologies.
This is a great opportunity to learn about our research, to meet members of my team - and a little bird tells me we'll have some guests from UCL and the International Center for NeuroArchitecture and NeuroDesign in attendance, too - or even just to check out the Autodesk office in one of the coolest locations we have, worldwide.
I'll be getting home from my trip to Canada on June 24th, and will be hopping back across to London on the 25th having refreshed my carry-on. We're all really looking forward to this event: it's going to be wonderful to engage with a broad cross-section of people who are passionate about - or just interested by - architecture.
It's completely free to attend, so reserve your spot today!
