DevTV

  • The recordings from our recent DevDays Online events, covering API-related information about much of the 2010 family of products, are now available: AutoCAD download (27.3 Mb) AEC download (47.5 Mb) Geospatial download (14.6 Mb) Manufacturing download (27.0 Mb) Civil 3D download (14.2 Mb) Enjoy! 🙂

  • As mentioned in this previous post, my team also provides technical services around the APIs for our Media & Entertainment products such as 3ds Max, Maya and MotionBuilder. We've now posted introductory DevTV sessions for 3ds Max and Maya: Introduction to Maya Dependency Graph Programming view download (44.3 Mb) Introduction to 3ds Max Programming   download (130.5 Mb) The 3ds Max DevTV comprises two separate days, which is why it hasn't been extracted and hosted for online viewing: you'll need to download the ZIP to watch that one. Enjoy! 🙂

  • For those of you who were unable to attend various Developer Track sessions at this year's Autodesk University (or would just like a refresher for sessions you found useful), my team is beavering away at recording our various AU sessions as DevTV episodes. As a quick taste of how they'll (most likely) look, here's the first: Stephen Preston's popular "AutoCAD .NET Basics" session, which went by the session ID of DE205-4, this year. Here it is for view and for download (139.1 Mb). It's possibly a slightly larger session to stream or download than you may have seen in the…

  • It struck me as a good time to remind people of some good learning resources for the APIs to Autodesk products. The Developer Centers are really the first place to start, from where you can typically access API documentation and (increasingly) DevTV sessions for our various platform products. Another great resource people may not realise is available to everyone, for free is our collection of API webcasts, which can not only be attended for free but also downloaded and viewed offline. You can access these via this direct link to the training schedule, or by clicking on "Schedule" from http://www.autodesk.com/apitraining…

  • One more to add to the collection of DevTV sessions: Gabriel Ajayi, from our DevTech team in Europe, has completed a very cool introductory DevTV session on programming with the Geospatial API in AutoCAD Map 3D. It is available for download (26.6 MB) or for online viewing. Many thanks, Gabriel!

  • In addition to the existing collection of DevTV sessions, we have just posted a DevTV session on RealDWG. It is available for download (97.5 MB) or for online viewing. A big thanks to Adam Nagy from our DevTech team in Europe for delivering this informative session!

  • I've mentioned before how much I appreciate the content on MSDN's Channel 9. For those of you who are familiar with C# 1.0, but haven't yet taken the time to dive into the language features introduced since then, I strongly recommend the "whirlwind" series posted on Channel 9. Here's a quick description of what these whirlwinds are all about: Whirlwinds are bite-sized webcasts, each is shorter than 15 minutes. You can start anywhere in the series to learn about the parts you're most interested in. Here are links to the individual whirlwinds: What's new in C# 2 Whirlwind 1 -…

  • My team has been working very hard on some recordings of introductory presentations around our APIs. Here is the first batch of recordings we've just posted as part of our DevTV series (the idea being these are recordings that are "produced", while our webcast recordings are somewhat raw): Introduction to AutoCAD .NET Programming view download (148 MB) Introduction to Inventor Programming view download (51.7 MB) Introduction to Revit Programming view download (64.3 MB) Introduction to Civil 3D Programming view download (27.3 MB) Introduction to MapGuide Enterprise Programming view download (37.4 MB) Enjoy! 🙂 Update For those of you looking to…

  • It's been quite a week... I was attending Autodesk's annual One Team Conference in Las Vegas, and had a number of meetings before, during and afterwards (hence my inability to make any posts whatsoever since Sunday). It was hectic, but a great event - the highlight for me was the keynote address on Wednesday by none other that Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States! Wow. Anyway, late last week it came to my attention that a presentation of mine had made it onto one of Autodesk's public websites. Thanks to posts on Jimmy Bergmark's and Scott Sheppard's…
