Merry Christmas, one and all!

I've now officially started my Christmas holiday, which means my blogging/tweeting will be almost non-existent until the second week of January. Unless I get bored, of course, but then as I've just managed to get our digital cable box replaced, granting much-missed access to British TV stations (BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, ITV2, Film 4), I suspect you won't hear all that much from me over the festive season.

Here's a quick video recorded at this year's Autodesk University, wherein my manager, Jim Quanci, talks about the Autodesk Developer Network. You'll find lots of other interesting interviews and clips on the Autodesk University YouTube Channel, in case you're interested.

Thanks to all of you for your readership & support during 2009. I wish you all a relaxing, peaceful holiday season and hope you make the most of the time spent with your families and friends (I know I will :-). And please do check back in next year: I can tell 2010 is going to be a very interesting year, technology-wise, and I fully expect to have lots to blog about. 🙂

  1. Hi,

how to Selecting the nearest face . In AutoCad using the BOUNDARY command then click the pick point. In you blog have the AutoCad Solid. But i'll need AutoCad only because it's not include the "BoundaryRepresentation" namespace. How to create the pick point and selecting the nearest point (likewise "BOUNDARY" activity). If you any idia about this pls share with me.

  2. Hi Dharanidharan R,

Try this post. You will need to include a project reference to the acdbmgdbrep.dll from the appropriate ObjectARX SDK's include folder.

I suggest posting your general questions to one of the online discussion groups.

  3. Kean,

I didn&#39t get the solution. I had run your code but it could select
only the 3D solid. Now i want the 2D selection. If i click the center
point then select the nearest face (Like BOUNDARY->pick pint.
COMMAND). I need any alternative solution for BOUNDARY command. if you
have any idea about this please share with me. or you may give any
reference how to handle it or create it .
